I got inspired by the 100 Things Challenge and I've started cataloging my stuff. (I'm also supposed to do it for rental insurance purposes,  so what the hell.) Naturally, I started with the easiest room first: the bedroom. Ours is tiny, so there's not much room for anything. Specifically, we have 39 things in there.

Of these,
13 are things I want to keep
16 I would like to get rid of  and there were
10 unknowns (mostly Brian's stuff),

Pretty cool. So now the exercise is to chisel away at the 16 items.

Of these,
-2.. I can get rid of these in 5 days when the Epilepsy Foundation comes through our neighborhood. They are already in the pile.
-1. One thing I have to convince Brian we don't need.
The rest is stuff we're using, I just don't like it and I wouldn't bring it with me if we moved. If I was limited to 100 personal possessions, I certainly wouldn't want these.  For example, the bed (very old), the lights, some books I haven't read yet, but already know I won't want to keep.

Hmm. So I am getting rid of 2-3 things out of 39. This isn't really an impressive start to my big decluttering campaign.

Oh, well. Next up: the next easiest room, the bathroom.
